This battery should be replaced periodically, every 7-8 years, on your Ensoniq synthesizer. Replacing it involves removing the original battery replacing it in the battery holder on the main PCB (printed circuit board) of the instrument.The battery "backs up" the memory for sounds and sequences (if applicable) on the unit. You may be seeing a "BATTERY LOW" message on your instrument, but that isn't always displayed. It's just a good practice to replace every 4-5 years.

Replacement time is about 30 minutes. If you are taking the battery to a shop for replacement, it will probably cost you around 30-60 minutes of bench time.
