LIEBIG- FOUR TABLE CARDS FROM SERIES OF 6 TITLED "PROVERBS- ILLUSTRATED IN ROCOCO COSTUMES" ISSUED IN 1900

Offered are 4 early Table Cards issued in 1900 by the Liebig Company and published in Paris, France. The series is one of two in a unique round shape, this one with the scalloped edges.  Liebig issued around 20 different series of Table or Place cards with space on card for the diner's name. These cards are identified by the Sanguinetti Catalog as from series T-18 and are in the French language. Card set is titled "Proverbs with Rococo Costumes". 

Liebig table cards, menus and trade cards are known as some the finest "Chromos" ever produced, many series with 12 color lithography and the sets covering 100's of different subjects. The first series were issued in 1872 and were published for over 100 years, the last of 1800+ sets came out in 1973. Cards promoting the company's "Extract of Beef" were issued in many countries around the world and in as many as 15 different languages.
