THE STORY
The Portuguese line dates to 1939 when two Portuguese businessmen went to IWC and requested a wristwatch that was both accurate and readable. IWC ended up using a pocket watch movement inside a 43mm case (huge at the time). In 1993 IWC reintroduced the Portuguese line with the Jubillee model. Later on the Portuguese Chronograph was introduced and was an instant hit with collectors.
Even though a replacement to the 3714, the 3904, was made years ago, IWC still makes the 3714. And for good reason. This watch is a study in subtle design. The embossed Arabic numbers are heat treated to a deep color and have this gorgeous sheen to them that makes them look like candy. The tapering leaf hands scream elegance. My favorite thing about this watch is that it’s extremely wearable. The case is very thin for a Valjoux based chronograph, and can slip under a cuff very easily. You can wear this to a board meeting or throw a contrast stitch sport strap on it for a golf outing.

The case is in fantastic condition. There’s no life-ending gashes or dents on the front and sides of the case, just some very minor scratches from normal use. The back does have some deeper scratches and is normal for this type of watch, take a look at the pictures. The crystal is free from scratches. Valjoux movement is running strong and keeping good time. IWC Portuguese Chronographs seem to have an issue with the leather bands. The loops that hold the band together seem to wear out way quicker than rest of the leather. On this watch, there is one loop and it has about 35% life left. The rest of the strap is about 85%. 14-Day Return Policy
We are watch enthusiasts at heart and we want you to be happy with your purchase. Nothing is worse than having to keep a watch you really don't want. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return eligible items for an exchange or refund within 14 days of when you receive the watch. All we ask is that you cover the cost of return shipping, and that the item be eligible for return (see below).
Return Eligibility
Items must be in new condition, meaning unworn with the security tab (if applicable) intact. Conditions which will void your ability to return merchandise includes: Scratching, Breaking, Wearing items, Opening the inside of watch, Removing links, Removing the security tab on high-end items, or lastly, if the auction explicitly says in the description that the item cannot be returned.
Please notify us within 5 Business Days of purchase if there is a significant discrepancy with an order. Please inspect all packages when they are received.
Warranty
Some of the watches we sell still carry the manufacturer's warranty, others don't. If the OEM warranty is applicable we will state it in the auction, otherwise no Warranty is provided.

Domestic Shipping
We usually use USPS as our preferred shipper. If you would like to use FED EX or UPS please let us know, there may be a slight uncharge. Please make sure that your shipping address is correct when placing the order. Higher-end orders will require a signature, so please specify an address or work address that you can be available to recieve the package and sign for it; furthermore, if a PO Box is used as the shipping address, we reserve the right to ask for a physical address.
We will refund and not reship items that are unsigned for, missed delivery, or are returned to us because of an insufficient address.
Economy Domestic Shipping
Orders generally ship within 2 business days from when payment has cleared. Your tracking number will be emailed to you once shipped. Orders that ship free will go at economy speed which is usually 3-5 Business Days, but can sometimes take longer (NOT guarenteed to be delivered by a certain date), if you want guaranteed options please pay for expedited shipping.
Expedited Domestic Shipping
Orders generally ship within 1 business day from when payment has cleared. Your tracking number will be emailed to you once shipped. Orders are guaranteed by business days(Saturday is not a business day). Shipping generally closes at 3PM EST. Please note: USPS does not deliver to PO Boxes, so please give us a home or work address when shipping expedited.
International Shipping
Because of issues with customs we generally do not ship internationally
Marking items as a Gift
Under federal law we cannot not mark an item for a lower price or as a '"gift." International Orders over $500.00 may ship via UPS and are subject to UPS Delivery Fees, in addition to all applicable duties and taxes. We do ship APO/FPO addresses but a limit of $2000, and all packages will ship via USPS. To calculate the shipping rate for your order, please refer to the shipping tab.

For deals closed on Ebay, we ask that you go through eBay for payment through their normal check out process. For those watches found outside eBay (watch forums etc), we accept payment through Paypal.
