1986-1987 HONDA vfr700/750F OEM size is 530x110 o-ring chain, 16t Ft. Sprocket, 45t Rear Sprocket
For QUICKER gear ratio (off the line, roll on's, wheelies), use a  46 t sprocket.
     Your highway speed rpm's will  be slightly higher than orig. and terminal top speed will be slightly  less.
For  FASTER TOP SPEED, and  LOWER HIGHWAY CRUISING RPM's, use a 42t rear sprocket OR a 17t Ft,.
   Same chain length with 17t,  the -3t   rear sprocket change requires a different chain length, which is shorter than the orig. chain length used w/std 45t)
    Your initial off the line acceleration will be slower than original, highway rpm's lower, and faster top speed than with stock gearing.
Original Factory Supplied OEM size sprockets are the calculated "Happy Medium" of off the line acceleration, roll on's, and high speed engine rpm's with the least amount of compromise on either top end or low end acceleration
* A 1 tooth change in the front is a more noticeable change because it is equivalent to a 3 tooth change in the rear..
EXAMPLE: (-1 tooth front = +3 teeth rear) or (+1 tooth front = -3 teeth rear)
EXAMPLE: (-1 tooth front and +1 tooth rear combined is the same as +4 rear only without changing the front)
