This
is the Dell 600-s series . A Win98/Dos power house for some of
the best DOS and Win95/98 Video games ever made. The Best Dos and
Windows 95/98 compatibility available. Why is this important? (See
below.)

Comes standard with CDrom. Floppy optional. If the integrated mouse does not work optimally I will include a PS2 mouse free.
Also for the gamers this system is made to work with your
windows 98/95/Dos games and the video card is ideal for older applications that needed certain resources that disappeared with newer video cards. This means Dos games are very well supported and are displayed correctly. Dos also has complete Sound Blaster Support for programs that need them.

Many Later 3d cards started improperly displaying 2d dos games and even early 3d games. A good example was Descent 1 which was an early 3d game, looked with many video cards like the rooms were empty and had no wall textures. This system had the ATI rage 8mb v1 video card design. It had no problem displaying things correctly.
These laptops are becoming very hard to find even on Ebay in good working condition. These have rare Dos Sound Blaster compatability and much more that make them the Legacy computer of choice for Gamers. Few computers Desktop or otherwise are able to do what this laptop setup to do. This
is a retro Gaming/Legacy Application Computer. It does both
very well. Even giving full support in Dos if needed. A must for some
programmers and gamer's alike. If you are a gamer relive the game experience of the 1990's and put all those games you purchased to good use.
Optimized Win98 and Optimized Dos. Even Dos has Sound Blaster Pro /CDrom Drive /Optimized High Memory /Mouse operational.
Sound Blaster Pro port 220 IRQ5 DMA1 which is exactly what most games of the 90's used in Dos. Worked with all the games I setup on the system. I can not say this about very many systems I used back in the 90's including most desktops.
I can get 620k out of the main lower memory in Dos and this laptop has all the important Ports like 25 pin Printer port and 9 pin Serial port. As Well as USB port for game-pad use.

The Last thing you want to do is waste time and money. Purchase the
best system the first time that will cover the widest range for the
programs and games you want use. You would be surprised at the number of

Fully
configured Windows 98 operating system. It has all the basics like
video, audio and DX9c it also has many many more important Drivers
in place(Like the latest Framework since many of the more important
business and even games build on it.) More are listed below. Many Laps
even if they have a Win98 OS on them will come with a fresh install and
it is up to the user to figure out how to get everything working(I
really daunting task. )Not to mention Dos setup.
But with this machine games/Apps made for Win 98 are well
supported and play nicely. I have tested this with a copy of Star Wars
Pod racer and Jane's USAF as seen in the picture and it plays nicely. Pod racer as fun as it is does not work well in
later OS and machines because of graphics problems. Jane's USAF never
worked right in XP or later since the menus would no longer drop open.
You
will NOT have to try to figure out how to
get games to work on this Laptop since I have done it for you. As you
will read everything has been taken into account so you will start
gaming right away. I have made it so simple to get started. This systems
feels very much like a more modern computer in terms of speed and the
fact there are few limitations to what you can do as you will see below.
These computer completely take the guess work out of obtaining a retro game computer. If you figure in the...
1) Computer
2) Operating system
3) All components working properly.
4) The time and Expert attention devoted.
All
this to make sure everything is right the first time. Then the asking
price of these Ultra compatible computers is minimal.
The idea is to provide a Service and not just a decent laptop. People
want to know they are not going to have to root out a lot of problems
first after receiving the unit.
Older Games and later Windows versions.
If you are like
so many who have purchased tons of games over the years, you have
experienced the disappointment of trying to install them on a machine
with a new Operating system and find out it just does not work. Even
with attempting the "comparability mode" it still does not work. And
for some even if you get it started it just does not run right. But
going back is daunting. Old hardware that works right is hard to find
these days and very hard to setup correctly. So what is offered in this
auction is intended to make it easy to go back and get to play again all
those games sitting somewhere collecting dust. And if you are like me
that is quite a collection.
What about a P4 computer? (Is faster better?)
These are some of the fastest and last laptops to have (authentic win98 driver
support). Be very careful of P4 Laptops since they are very risky to try to setup for
Window 98 and even worse for Dos Many games will not work
with a win98 system shoe horned into a P4. The reason I setup these
laptops is they are genuinely guaranteed to support the Win98 games of
this era with all the right drivers.
For XP go with a P4 since they are made for it.
But as for Win98 it was made for these systems and is by far more compatible with all the games/Apps.
Now back to this Laptop.

With
its speed and dedicated 16mb 3d video card this is truly the beast of
all Win98 Gaming Laptops. It will play the most demanding Win98 Games
and Apps.(Like USAF in the photos. One of my favorite games of 1999) It
even has Dual fans in the back to keep it cool. I will always keep one
of these for my use since nothing that covers the rage of demanding
win98 programs better.

You
will see a short video I have made using these laptops featuring several classic games. I quick
connected to a large LCD TV easy for these laptops with a VGA cable.
The Sound, themes and atmosphere in these old games are
fantastic. The music in the video is from Epic megagames Crash and Burn
Pinball I would like to do more videos like this with other games since
this video came out so well.

I love old laptops. I like them better then most desktops for their mobility and inclusiveness.
This
is One of the best grab and go gaming systems you can buy. And has one
of the largest quality Game/App selection available.
One
big plus is I have added USB Data key/Flash Drive and thumb drive
support to
windows 98(No Key included but cheap on ebay). I have not tried keys
bigger then 32GB. Even USB Keyboards and Mice are supported
To use all that extra space there is a
free CD disk mounting utility on this laptop that will easily mount
disk .ISO files. This is a great feature if you want to burn your old
cdrom game disks to .ISO format which there are many free utilities out
there for doing just that. Then you can keep your personal collection of
games on the USB data key and not have to lug around all your disks. I
converted my game disks to preserve them and just use my .ISO virtual cd
disk files to play my games. Now you have your cdrom collection all on
your Key. We are not done yet.
It even has Network Drvs
installed for a home network (See picture example).
It also has
USB Game-pad support and
almost any Logitech game-pad should work with it in Win98, and Dos if
you play from Windows. Many Dos game can play this way and gives
GP/Joystick support. I used a GP model G-uf13a and 310 see picture. The
provided utility lets you setup up your game-pad any way you like for
your games.
I
left a lot of games on it like the ones seen in the pictures and so
much more, you would take years to go through them. The Windows Sound
is Sound Blaster Pro A220 I5 DI. The DOS memory configuration allows of
almost 620
kilobytes of lower memory 256 megabytes extended memory which is much
more then Dos needs and Win98 runs best with 64 - 128 mb. Some programs
just do not do well in emulators. This works better then most of the
computers I had during the early days of PC Gaming. This Lap does not
have the compatibility problems that the piecemeal computers had trying
to run the games. One really sweet feature of this unit is it has a VGA
out and hot switch to a Monitor or Large
TV in which many newer TV's have. (This is a feature I look
for in my laptops and rarely purchase without it. But you have to be
selective which Laps you get since many in that era do not have it.)
I will also supply (Upon Request) a free Atari classics
CD (Asteroids pictured) yes the arcade edition upon request. These are
legal copies with the CDROM included but you must request it from me to
put it into the Package. I will make sure anyone who request it gets it.
To some this might not be important. I would think this would be a must
for most people since these are the ultimate (jump into games) for the
best "quick blast" PC gaming ever offered.
The only game pictured that does not come with the Laptop is the Pod
racer game. It is a test copy and you need the CD or ISO to play it.
Do
you have old games sitting somewhere get them out and relive the early
Glory of PC gaming as it was in the mid 90's and early 2000's. Play Windows 98 games
the way they were meant to be played.
Does have a power
adapter/Working CDrom drive. If it has a Battery it is not guaranteed. Runs fine of supplied power cord. It is an older
computer and it has minor imperfections. Screen is not in bad condition
for a laptop of this era. The latch to close laptop does not stay closed
at times. This is common in laptops of this era.
Batteries for all dell Latitude are cheap on Ebay about $16 with free shipping.
I
am very careful about how I pack and ship your laptop. The reason is
after you go through all the trouble of finding the laptop that you want
and suits you needs. It is a real disappointment to receive it and have
it broken in shipping. This causes all kinds of problems. So I do the
little extra need to make sure your laptop comes ready to use. It would
be hard to abuse one of these laptop packages badly enough to damage its
contents.

Possessor speed and the amount of ram and video ram in each tier are
balanced and will run programs well within a specific time in gaming
history very well. The list below is only a guideline since there are
always programs that require a different mix of system specs. The ones
