289 Cobra Powered By Ford name plate from Shelby American .This name plate is something that Shelby American used on their 289 Cobras for personal identification when a customer took delivery of a 289 Cobra. The plate was engraved with the serial number of the car and the name of the new owner then applied to the dashboard of the car. I believe these were used primarily on 289 Cobras since it has the Venice , Cal. Address. This plate is a re-issue that was made over 40 years ago by the original Cobra owners club before SAAC. One picture is with the plastic on the face and one is with it off.I do not think these were ever reproduced and I only have a few of these left . When they are gone there will be no more.
