You are looking at a beautiful antique mantle clock with a VISIBLE ESCAPEMENT, DATED JUNE 18, 1882! Patented JUNE 14, 1881! This was made in the USA by the ANSONIA CLOCK COMPANY. This clock was made in New York City after the company moved from ANSONIA Ct after, I believe, a fire. I couldn't find the name of the clock. I have not seen one like it. It has six columns, three on each side. It has a scroll engraving on the bottom and a raised scroll with a face on the top. It is cast iron, black. Very heavy. It measures 16 1/2" long, 5 3/4" wide and 11 1/2" high. The columns are 6 1/2" tall. The front door is 5 1/4" wide. The beveled glass door is in very good condition as is the porcelain face. The cabinet has no chips, cracks etc but does need to be redone since it is over 100 years old and has been sitting in an old farm house mostly unused. There is no key. Also, the back cover is missing. The clock does begin to work when you push the pendulum and turn the hour hand. It does chime but the hour chime is off, since at 8 it chimed five times. This clock is being sold as is, no guarantees, in need of repair overall, but is worth the time. It is a wonderful and beautiful piece. It seems to have been made in the very late 1800's. PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT ALL OF THE PICTURES FOR THE DETAILS AS THEY TELL THE REAL STORY! I Do offer shipping but it is expensive ( may be less depending on location) and will pack it the best I can so there is no movement inside, local pick up advised. Questions please ask. Thanks for viewing!! Paypal only. Sorry but I do not ship outside the USA.
