Vintage 1954 Rolex Pre-Explorer Ovettone Big Bubbleback Ref.6352

Rare reference 6352 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Precision is a very interesting watch. In addition, this watch used the 'big bubbleback' 10-1/2” A.296 automatic movement.

This is a rare over-size Rolex Ovettone Big Bubbleback, it is also known as the Pre-Explorer model.

The original black gilt dial has been restored in the past, it has some aging and turns a lovely tropical brown color.
The 36 mm (excluding crown) stainless steel case is in good condition with only the most minimal signs of wear.

The original Rolex signed Brevet “+” winding crown screws down properly.

Classic cal. A.296 'big bubble' Perpetual movement is running well although last service unknown.
Inside case back is stamped 6350 crossed out with model 6352 stamped, the case back is date stamped 1-54.

Between lugs it is stamped BREVET + 6352 and the serial number 30xxx  which confirms the year of manufacture as 1954.

This big bubble back comes with a 20 mm brand new distressed style brown color leather strap.
