One of the best watches to own, according to an expert collector.

This Jaeger-LeCoultre, c. 1950s, is a rare and atypical example of the classic Futurematic. Debuted in 1953, the LeCoultre Futurematic was the first fully automatic watch without a winding crown. The calibre 497 movement was so precise that even after resting for a long period of time, the watch would start immediately upon being picked up. As a result, the watch's case appears fully symmetrical, and the time is set by sliding a small disc on the caseback.

Jaeger-LeCoultre discontinued this watch because the production of this watch was so expensive, that almost caused the bankruptcy of the company.
