Here is the very reluctant sale of my much loved Genuine Honda Z50A Ready for the road with a full mot & free tax, It even has 2 keys.

I’ve owned this bike for 40 years. When I got the bike it had a 50cc engine in it but in 1999 I had the engine professionally changed to the far better Honda c90 cub engine semi automatic with a special carburettor (see pics) & the reliable 12 volt cdi ignition, also I had the sprockets changed to the ones recommended for the conversion. It is the better of the c90 engines with the gearbox that goes round in circles so if you coast upto a junction in top gear you simply press the gear pedal one click down & your into neutral ready for popping it down  into first to set off again. With this engine it has loads of torque & will go up hills as fast as down them plus you don’t have to rev it high to make it pull well.

In 2000 I got a declaration of manufacture for used vehicles & then registered it with its new engine for the road at Leeds & got a 1970 age related Number so it is a H reg & can be used on black & silver number plates that look really good. It is registered on the v5 as a Honda 90 historic vehicle with my brother as the only former keeper in March 2000.  

The bike is as clean as a whistle, in amazing condition for its age & is a credit to Honda, it has only done 2611 miles from new. Everything works 12v Horn, lights, stop light, even the little speedo lights up.

Couple of bad points are its chrome is lifting off the wheels the back one is worse than the front see pics but if that bothers you they are found  easily & not so expensive from ebay or you could have them re’chromed. It has a 1 inch split in the side of the seat that I have had stitched up, it also has a crease at the back of the rear mud guard  under the number plate (see pic's) but I cant think of anything else wrong to tell you about it.

The bike has been in my spare room every winter, it runs nice & ticks like a clock, the clutch, gearbox & brakes are perfect.
