This listing is for a wonderful large 12" vintage English "Barbola" dressing table mirror with hand painted gesso floral decoration and an easel back, c. 1930's.
This vintage mirror is a wonderful example of "Barbola" shabby chic charm featuring a round beveled edge mirror mounted on a painted wooden frame with a gesso flower border. The floral border is in good condition with hand enameled gesso flowers with beautiful coloration in shades of dark red, orange, pink, yellow and blue with dark green leaves. The border has normal stress cracks found on gesso items and minor paint wear although there are no missing flowers (see photos). The mirror has a clean polished edge and is in excellent condition with no major chips or cracks. The easel sits/stands correctly (see photos) - nn other noted flaws.
The mirror measures 10 3/4" in diameter. The back measures 12 1/2" high at highest point.
