The present knife is handmade by forging 1095 & 15N20 carbon steels folded over each other forming over 256 layers, resulting in a stunning blade pattern. This product is called Damascus Steel. Damascus steel knives are renowned for their tough blades and long endurance of their edges.

Sharpness: Very sharp but NOT SHAVE READY and it is extremely difficult to make this present Damascus steel shave ready. So buy it only as antique.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR KNIFE:

(1) According to our experience, we recommend you to put your brand new leather sheath at dry place for at least 24hours. Brand new leather sheaths contain some moisture and chemicals (which were used for processing leather and coloring).

 (2) Put a thin layer of oil or lubricant on the blade after each use. This procedure will avoid direct contact of moisture on the blade. Moisture helps the rusting phenomena.

(3) DO NOT store it in leather sheath for a LONG period of time. Oil it and store it rather in a plastic bag and preferably seal it.
