Toile de Jouy’ literally translated from French as cloth from Jouy-en-Josas - a small town to the south-west of Paris where it was first produced in the mid 17th century. Toile De Jouy has been a popular design through the centuries.The various designs over time have always featured vignettes of figures, landscapes or flowers.

Our Toile de Jouy features a distinctly pastoral theme.
