2002 Skoda Octavia vRS 1.8 20v turbo
I have had the car for just over a month now but I have not used it as a daily driver. The car is in good condition with the usual wear and tear of a 12 year old car. The lacquer is peeling on the drivers door but is not very noticeable and the wheels have some corrosion on them. The best description of the cars condition is done by the pictures.
I knew the pevious two owners and I bought the car with a blown oil cooler. I have replaced the oil cooler and the thermostat (as the thermostat seal was leaking around the housing). The coolant in the system has been flushed out and the major hoses have been taken off and cleaned, however after a while of running there is still some oily substance that floats too the top of the bottle, but the engine gets up to temperature fine and does not overheat. This is what is left over from the oil getting into the water and requires a further flush of the system. On idle the car has a slight missfire which threw up the engine code P300 and P301. Since then i have done a compression test on the cylinders which was fine and changed the spark plugs for some qulity NGK's, however the idle doesnt feel any better, but the codes havnt returned although I suspect they will. I dont have the time to sort these problems out as I have an older car that requires welding and the wife's car has decided to play up so I have decided to sell.
The previous owner had the car stage 1 remapped which makes it around 220bhp, this is not backed up by a receipt as he lost it. The headlight covers were also added by him. It has a pipercross pannel air filter fitted and a purge dump valve (which sounds great). Other than that the car is standard. It comes with two keys, a tow bar that has been unbolted (the previous owner had a small trailer for camping), spare alloy wheel with a good tyre, jack, wrench, locking wheel nut key, 2 pencil coils, aux drive belt and the owners handbook with some old MOTs and various recipts. There is a receipt for a cambelt that was done in 2008.
The car is MOT'd until the 16th April 2015 with one advisory for worn rear tyre close to legal limit. It is not TAX'd. It drives well and could be driven away.
