This is a beautiful, privately reconstructed 1960 Studebaker Hawk -- with the exterior color scheme made to resemble a 'Golden Hawk' with the beautiful gold color and white accents. It has a Studebaker V8, automatic transmission, four-barrel Holley carburetor, windshield washer system, 12V alternator system. No power steering.

This Studebaker was completely taken apart, off frame...sandblasted and restored to like-new condition. The entire underside of the body is coated in fiberglass cloth & fiberglass resin with additional undercoating for future rust prevention! Every single bolt, nut, washer, wire, and hose is brand new. The front chrome is in excellent condition! The interior is in very good condition! There is no rust on this Studebaker, except a few small regions of surface rust on some bolts/nuts due to storage!

The vehicle was reconstructed approximately 10 years ago... It was put into immediate storage and it was never driven on the roads. It was taken out every season, warmed up, and driven around the property...but it was never on the roads. Because of this, we do not know its operational capabilities out on the roads...we make no claims nor guarantees of operational capabilities!

There are a few issues (shown in the photos):
  1. The paint is chipped near the passenger front headlight
  2. The paint is chipped around the edge were the hood closes down (the hood slightly touches the body when it's closed)
  3. The paint is slightly faded (0.5 inch spot) on the driver side door
  4. The trunk lid has two 'tiger stripe' paint flaws
  5. The rear chrome bumper has a few scratch marks and blemishes...including the rear chrome shrouds that go around the taillights
  6. The top of the vehicle has a few small spots on it
  7. The trunk latch mechanism is not installed...I have most of the latch components, but not all
  8. No radio and the radio cable is incomplete
  9. No truck mat/carpet
  10. The labels above the switches are missing
  11. The dome light is missing its cover
  12. The vinyl between the door frames and rear windows was patched
  13. The front two seats have a few wrinkles/scratch marks on them
  14. Slight hesitation when the accelerator is pushed (working on fixing this issue....suspect bad carb power valve or a little out-of-time)
  15. One of the passenger-side freeze plugs is leaking small amount of coolant (about one drop every 1-2 hours)
  16. The doors have a very very slight bow to the them when closed against the body
  17. The rims are not original Studebaker
Overall, the above issues are not major! The vehicle is gorgeous throughout and engine performance is strong! It is really a head-turner and with just a little more work, it can easily become a showcar!!

Please keep in mind that it was never on the roads! All of the problems that we are aware of by driving it around our property has been listed! The vehicle is sold 'as-is'

Please keep your expectation to reality! We have listed all problems that we are aware of...but again, keep in mind that the vehicle mainly sat in storage!

The Vehicle is located in South Bend, IN  46613

Does not come with a battery!

No delivery! Buyer is responsible for removing the Vehicle off the premises!  Clean and in-order paperwork.

Buyer will need to sign with me a Bill of Sale document...which states certain terms and conditions (no refunds, vehicle sold 'as-is', etc...)

Q: In one picture it looks as if the driver side door is not closing properly ...?
A:  The door was left ajar in that picture...both doors close nicely against the body!

Q:  Does the instrumentation gauges work ?

A:  Yes! Although I am not 100% sure how accurate the fuel gauge is since we usually didn't put more than a few gallons of gasoline in the fuel tank

Q:  In one of the photos and the video you posted we can see that the heater control knob is missing its end plastic piece...

A:  At the time of photos and videos, yes, the plastic end piece was missing...however this was fixed yesterday! Hence the reason why I didn't have the missing end piece listed as an issue.

Q:  In one of the photos and the video you posted we can see that the odometer/mileage is in fact not zero....
A:  The vehicle was completely reconstructed and then it was immediately put into storage. The original odometer/speedometer was left untouched.

Q:  If I buy this Vehicle, can I drive it home...on the highways... ?
A: We made it very clear in the ad listing that this Vehicle sat mainly in storage for 10 years...with occasional small drives/warm-ups:  we do not know how the vehicle would handle on the roads, let alone highways. Maybe it will be fine...maybe not...we do not know. As such, we would recommend that this Vehicle be transported on a trailer or something similar.... then slowly be 'broken in' driving-wise:  take it for a small 10 minute drive one day...then next day take it for a 15 minute drive, etc..etc....

A:  It's about a few drops every couple of hours.... see photo below:

Q:  In the listing it is mentioned that the doors have a slight bow to them...how bad is this ?

On May-24-15 at 16:47:19 PDT, seller added the following information:

Q:  This Vehicle doesn't look an original 1960 Hawk....seats and fins are different....

A:  When we rebuilt the vehicle we changed the seats and altered the fins to our liking...This is not a 110% original reconstruction!

On May-25-15 at 08:36:06 PDT, seller added the following information:

Q:  How serious is the driver side door paint blemish ?

A:  It's not that bad....but it is noticeable up close

On May-25-15 at 19:29:35 PDT, seller added the following information:

Q:  Does the paint have a clear coat on top ? What is the condition of the chrome ?

A:  Yes, the paint has a clear coat on top. The chrome is in excellent condition at the front...the rear bumper has a few scratch marks and the rear tail-light chrome shrouds have a few tiny pittings.
