Product Description

Founded by husband and wife team Margaretha and Wolfgang Ley in 1978, Escada began its life as a colourful knitwear company. Dividing up the work was easy, Margaretha Ley was in charge of the creative part while Wolfgang took care of “rest” – finances, sales, marketing and production. Starting in Munich in 1978, the company made a name for itself with distinctive colorful and patterned fashions. The German fashion house would see rapid growth in the 1980s as flamboyant, imaginative and designs became more popular. Escada Beauté was founded in 1990 and saw the release of its first fragrance, Escada Margaretha Ley, named for one of the company's founders. The fragrance division launched a series of successful fragrances for men and women throughout the 1990s and continuing in the 21st century. From leopard print to monochrome, Escada presents accessible haute couture with luxurious fabrics and exquisite cuts for a larger audience. That distinctive Escada feel is emulated in its fragrance collection, a line of fun and fruity scents that capture the joie de vivre of colorful couture. Today, Escada blends classic cool with playful touches for a timeless yet youthful allure. The company soon became a major success. What were the reasons? How did ESCADA differ from its competitors? This can be explained in four words: color, elegance, quality and fit
