I have for sale the complete Logic7 "Top Hi-Fi" wiring harness from the main body of a 2008 BMW E65 7-series. This harness has the following wires:
- power and ground
- speaker wires to the 2 subwoofers under the driver and passenger seat
- speaker wires to the Left and Right rear door connectors
- speaker wires to the Center channel speaker
- MOST fiber optic connector and optical cable (two lengths, a short one and a long one)

With this cable, it's possible to upgrade your existing "Hi-Fi" amplifier to the Logic7 "Top Hi-Fi" amplifier. You will need to have your ASK (Audio System Controller) re-coded so it knows the Logic7 amp is installed. You will also need to recode your front MMI (Control Display) so you get the Logic7 menu with the graphic equilizer.

From BMW's description:
Top HiFi amplifiers are amplifiers with active frequency gates. Active frequency gates achieve better acoustic results than passive frequency gates. The Top HiFi amplifier is a control unit on the MOST network which has following functions:
- High and mid-range output stages, 3 x 15 Watt
- Subwoofer output stages, 4 x 30 Watt (2-channel subwoofer amplifier)
- Vehicle-specific equalizing
- Speed-dependent equalizing
- Volume-dependent equalizing
- Speed-dependent dynamic compression
- Space simulation (space size, echo)
- Speaker runtime balancing

The standard "Hi-Fi" amplifier only takes the low frequency output from your headunit (ASK), amplifies the signals out and sends them to the 2 subwoofers. It also has a speed dependent volume boost. Nothing more.

Several steps will be required to retrofit the Logic7 amplifier:
1. Take the original MOST cable out of your Telephone module or Voice module (depending on model year), insert into the Logic7 harness, then run the new MOST cable back to your Telephone or Voice module. This completes the fiber optic MOST loop.
2. Run the remaining Logic7 wires to your new Center channel speaker and rear Door speakers (speakers are not included)
3. Run the subwoofer cables to your subs... or if you want to buy the 2.5mm pin removal tool, you can just swap your existing sub wires into the Logic7 harness connector
4. Slide the power and ground "comb" connector wires onto the junction blocks taped behind your Navigation computer or re-use the ones from your "Hi-Fi" amp
5. Recode your ASK and front MMI

Note: one of the pictures shows the complete 2.5mm pin removal tool. You can purchase just the replacement sleeve (83300495386) for about $3. The sleeve is able to remove the pins all by itself and of course is less expensive than the complete tool. This is only needed if you re-use your existing subwoofer speaker or power wires.

Note: the power and ground "comb" connectors were pried open slightly with an awl in order to be removed. You may need to crimp down the connector slightly for a tight fit on the junction blocks. Alternatively, if you remove the power and ground from your existing "Hi-Fi" connector you can re-use them in this new connector.

Note: if the harnesses in your rear doors are NOT pre-wired for the rear door speakers, you will need to add wiring in the door.

All of the factory attachment points along the harness are intact except for one - see the red circle

For model year 2006 - 2008 BMW changed the order of the units on the MOST loop. These later years had the Logic7 amplifier right before the Satellite Radio module and you will likely need the long MOST cable included. Earlier cars had the Logic7 amplifier right before the Voice Recognition Module (SVS) (or Navigation computer if your didn't come with SVS) and the short MOST cable may be sufficient.

Happy retrofitting!
