QM Chip Control Geometry -

The QM geometry provides sufficient edge strength when machining difficult-to-cut materials while also enabling effective chip control which breaks the chips into really nice sixes & nines. These are easy to evacuate eliminating the risk of swarf-clogging and also do not place such large stresses on the cutting edge when chipbreaking occurs. In addition, compared to other typically applied PVD coated grades' 10% Cobalt content, Sandvik 4225’s MTCVD coated carbide grades have 12% Cobalt. As a result, they perform very well when cutting difficult-to-machine materials, partly because of their higher toughness
