These Event Covers are 25 years old,

  extremely scarce and very hard to find.

This 125th Anniversary Cover was issued through the FDNY Fire Museum on May 4, 1990, to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the establishment of the paid Fire Department, doing away with the volunteer fire department. The front of the postcard shows the badge that was used for the Metropolitan Fire Department during the first five years on the left side and the commemorative badge that was available at the Museum for the 125th Anniversary at the Museum on the right side.  

The cancellation is special cancellation used at the museum on May 4, 1990. It is a Hand Cancellation which usually means you had to be there on that date in order to get this special cancellation.

The cover will be in a 1/4 inch archive safe lucite holder, and will come with a 3" lucite stand.

RETURN POLICY

Returns will be accepted for the following reasons:

1.   There is a question about the authenticity of an item, provided there is documentation stating the item is not as sold or listed. 

2.  The description of the item did not include information regarding a GROSS MISREPRESENTATION or MAJOR defect in the item.  (Please be aware that we do our best to describe every aspect of each item we sell.  Some items which may be considered USED or VINTAGE can be expected to have normal wear and tear, unless otherwise stated.)
