Coromandel desk set with jasperware cameos c1815

Two piece coromandel, brass and jasper medallions.  Regency period, c1815.  Consists of  cut glass inkwell which has diamond and hobnail pattern to the base, a finely engraved brass lid set with a jasperware medallion.  The inkwell sits on a round coromandel base.  There is a similar treatment to the pen well and the two are clearly companion pieces.  Both have their original purple felted bottoms.  The inkwell has a small subsidiary inkwell insert which is a nice feature.

Dimensions of inkwell base 24cms diameter.  Inkwell dimensions 8.7cms diameter x 9.7cms high.  The pen holder is 29cms x 10cms x 3.5cms high.
Total weight of inkwell and stand: 1.4kgs.  Weight of pen holder 500gms.
Total combined weight: 1.9kgs (Heavy item to P+P)

Condition: Beautiful colour and patination to the wood.  Brasswork is excellent with the exception of one round brass stud head missing from the inkwell base.

Note: There are two large flakes of glass missing from the side of the inkwell. See photographs They are actually quite hard to spot even though they are large. The loss looks old and they are smooth to touch. See photographs.

All the jasperware cameos are undamaged and depict various classical figures, ranging from  the Three Graces through to Hector of Troy.  The jasperware cameos are Wedgwood or Sevres and of very good quality. Due to shrinkage of the wood on the inkwell base the inkwell does not fully nest in its receptacle but this would be easy to tweak.

These are really high quality desk statement pieces. You could imagine a Duke having these on his desk!
