PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS BEFORE BUYING –

These are brand new items but they are slight SECONDS in terms of quality.

We are a Fair Trade company and part of our ethos is never to send anything back to our suppliers or withhold payment. Sometimes we receive leather items from our suppliers that are not quite up to our high standards. Leather is a natural product and is not likely to be perfect. However, with these items there are some obvious but minor imperfections in the finish of the covers. This may be an odd mark or scrape or something similar. We think this adds to the rugged and unique appeal of the items. We have included some photos representative of the sort of imperfections the items may have so you understand what you are buying. PLEASE LOOK at all the images above, not just the main photo.

Because of these minor faults, the items are being sold at a VERY REDUCED PRICE. If however, bearing this all in mind, you are not happy with the product once you have received it, you are more than welcome to send it back to us for a refund. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the return postage as it has been made clear that the items are seconds.

Please note the main image is a general one for illustration purposes only.

Dimensions approx. 110 x 165 mm

These handmade, fair trade and eco friendly leather journals are made by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.

The approximate dimensions of these leather journals are:

Medium 110 x 165 mm

These journals have approximately 125 pages of unlined khadda paper; khadda is recycled cotton that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India.  It is handmade and doesn’t contain any chemicals as we use only unbleached cotton and is very easy to write on.  The paper is made by charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages.

The journal has been expertly and carefully stitched round the outside to give a more intrepid feel. The book has been expertly put together with the pages hand stitched in.

The semi precious stone that has been stitched in has been handpicked by us for quality and size and may differ from the image shown as we use a mixture of Tiger Eye, Lapis, Labradorite and black Onyx.

We are a fair trade company and regularly visit our suppliers to ensure the highest standards are met.

We pay our suppliers 50% upfront and send money to them whenever they need it. We never send anything back or not pay for damaged goods.  We use a bonus system for the staff and they can earn up to 5% of our total order value which can give them an extra month’s wages per year.

The leather has been tanned by our suppliers using a natural dye and the put together using a mixture of love, contemporary and traditional skills.

These journals have been expertly crafted with the pages hand stitched in and are ideal for travelling and perfect for just doodling or diary writing.

Each item is individual, leather is a natural product and can have slight imperfections, we feel this adds to the individuality and makes each product unique.

For embossed items, the exact pattern WILL NOT be exactly the same as the sample image shown but all products been made with the same handmade, Fair Trade love and care.

Due to the handmade nature of these products colour and designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.
