Try this - sit and listen to your stereo, then get someone to gently lift and hold one of the components and hear the difference as the vibration is damped from it. This is what these feet do for you, but without getting tired and grumpy, hurting their back or catching your expensive stylus in their jumper. Despite the frivolity, it is a good test.

Solidair Audio, Ukishima 6, magnetic levitation feet for hifi (Box of three 6Kg model) are made from polished brass and stainless steel to accurate tolerances. They are designed to considerably reduce vibration in hifi equipment. The set of three works well on lighter items, especially if they are heavy at one end like some pre-amps. They work really well under lighter turntables and CD players as you would expect. I use them under a Puresound P10, which works unreasonably well. Valves and capacitors are very microphonic, so the sound can be detrimentally coloured by vibration, particularly in the low voltage stages of the signal. The magnetic field is very contained and in tests the earths magnetic field is the the only readable field when you get to the top of the feet as long as you have them heavy side upwards as they are designed to be used. This ensures that the signal is not affected inside the equipment.

You will notice an immediate improvement to the sound quality. The gaps between the notes are so much cleaner, a clear noise reduction. Typically the soundstage is improved, harshness removed from high notes with more clarity, detail and solidity in the bass. On AV equipment a clearer crisper picture will be seen as well.

A quote from Julius Hyde, designer and maker of the legendary Impulse and Aspara horn speakers: "Oh yes." Laconic, but to the point!

"The base is much tighter and overall the sound is sweeter, these are really good." Dave Sugarbeet, electric violin maestro.

"I have my turntable sat on them.Very pleased with the result, both aesthetically and sonically! Wish I had done this a long time ago. Many thanks,  D"

"These are good! Very good!" G

"It has really improved the turntable.....the decay of instruments lasts longer....everything feels that bit more real" G

"I have put them under everything, they are brilliant and look like little jewels.." M

Place the feet under your CD, DVD, Blu-ray, amp, preamp, turntable, speakers……..

Start at the corners and move them to even the load. The working range of loads are from 0.5Kg to 6Kg  per foot or 1.5Kg to 18Kg for a set of three feet (1 box), which will cover most lighter and small equipment. They are not for heavy valve amps the made to order Ukishima 15 is designed for this application. The feet are typically about 35mm in height and 31mm in diameter (wide) when in use under load.

Some products are quite unbalanced, usually due to the position of heavy transformers. Valve CD players, for example, may need one foot on one side and two on the other. Or arrange them to suit your aesthetic judgement.

Make sure the feet are not fully compressed under load, or they will not be doing their job.  (You may want to remove the standard rubber feet or rigid spikes from your hifi separates for cleaner lines and more freedom with your setup.)

Tall units with a small footprint, like floor standing speakers, may be too unstable for use with this kind of foot for support.

Take care not to drop them as the central locating rod is thin, out of necessity to eliminate friction and give the best performance. It can be bent under impact. If you feel compelled to dismantle the feet, please take great care with the magnets. As well as the dangers to personal injury, the magnets are quite brittle and can break easily if allowed to move in an uncontrolled way. We can fix any issues, of course, but that will mean sending it/them back to us.

Used properly, these feet will give you many years of reliable service and improved enjoyment of your beloved hifi equipment. For high end audio this would be the most cost effective upgrade you can make. I would not want to be without them, if you don't agree, just send them back.
