If the item is over £50 it will not insured because Royal Mail's policy states that if it's more than £50,

 the insurance should be up scale as well otherwise its not possible to claim anything 

from Royal Mail as £50 is the limit for normal recorded delivery. 

Same applies to non-recorded item.

 

To be honest I've been posting internationally for quite a long time now and 100% of the item has been received

 by the buyer and none of them got lost or damage.
