Up for sale is an beautiful Original Oil Painting by French Artist Jacques Bouyssou (1926 - 1997), "Paris Le Garage"

The painting is signed on the back of the canvas, "Fraternellement Bernard, Jacques Bouyssou"

The canvas measures about 21.5" h by 18" w. In the frame, it measures about 23.75 by 20.25 inches

The painting was acquired from the estate of a very impressive art collector. I am by no means an art expert, but I did do a little research on the work. My understanding is that is has been in a private collection for a long time. I have not been able to find it available previously on the retail/auction market. Interestingly, the painting was only signed on the back of the work, and the painter included a sentimental note along with his signature. It translates to "Fraternally Bernard". I believe the Bernard in question is probably fellow painter Bernard Loriot. They were both from Honfleur, less than two years of age apart,  and were known to attend each other's shows. I suspect this painting was originally done for/or given to Bernard Loriot by Jacques himself. But I am merely speculating. Either way, it makes for an interesting piece, and a beautiful one at that.

Again, I am not an art expert so my condition comments are merely observational as a curtesy. While really nice, I think both the frame and the painting may benefit from a professional cleaning. That being said, the painting appears to be completely free of ever having been exposed to a smoking/tobacco environment. Buyer should feel very confident about that. I took a close-up picture in the lower left portion of the painting where it looks like there is a small area where the paint has cracked. I took another picture of the nails affixing the canvas to the stretcher and everything looks good there. I did not attempt to remove the painting from the frame. See pictures for details.

I will have the work professionally packed, shipped, and insured for the buyer.

Thanks, Ashley
