Stussy; prenounced stu-si is an American streetwear brand created by American surfer Shawn Stussy. Founded in 1980 Shawn started out selling surfboards and custom clothing from the boot of his car, branded with his iconic signature that he derived from his uncle's. As Stussy gained popularity he teamed up with his partner Frank Sinatra Jr (not affiliated with the singer!) and expanded to Europe, shortly after they opened a boutique store in SoHo, New York.

Fast forward a year or two to the early ninties and the streetwear scene had blown up! Stussy was selling in boutique stores as well as specialist skate & surfshops all over the east and west coast and was turning over millions of dollars a month. The brand gained prestiege with hip-hop rappers and DJ's thus becoming popular in the underground music scene and the rest is history! 

In 1996 Stussy resigned as president and was bought out by Sinatra Jr. Today Stussy as a brand is still seen as the godfather of the streetwear and continues to make high quality clothing to be sold all over the world. Still owned by Sinatra Jr with design being handled by Nick Bower. Stussy's headquarters are located in Irvine, California.
