Thomas Earnshaw, born Feb. 4, 1749 was an English watchmaker, the first to simplify and economize in producing chronometers so as to make them available to the general public. Although he died in 1829 today his watches are still in production under the Earnshaw brand and consist of high quality quartz and automatic movements including chronograph, skeleton automatic movements and dual time movements.
