Rocket: Robot On Wheels was the first game produced by developer Sucker Punch (creators of the Sly Cooper series). Praised for its tight controls, fun gameplay, and the first game to use a realistic physics engine.

This is one of the "Sprocket" prototype developer carts. Most of these builds don't have art labels, and this is one of only of three that I could find.

I got this game from a project manager that worked for Sucker Punch while they were developing Sly Cooper in the early 2000's. I was told that he got it directly from Bruce Oberg (company co-owner) with his business card taped to the back. The name "Charlie" written on the back in sharpie is probably the name of one of the testers.

As far as I can tell; this is a later build of the game. The title screen says "Rocket: Robot On Wheels" and the first level feels like it's at 85%. Later levels feel a little less complete, and there's some clipping and audio glitches. I don't know which revision of the game it is.

I carefully peeled the tape and card up so I could remove the screws on top to take pictures of the PCB. I've put the cart back together, and stuck the tape back down... super pro maneuver, you shoulda been there... it was epic.

Anyway, it kills me to let this one go. It's been one of my favorite gems in my collection. Now it can be yours, as my collection is moving in a different direction. So, if you like collecting prototypes, and want something a little more unique; this is your chance.

THIS ROM HAS NOT BEEN DUMPED!
If you buy this cart, I encourage you to have the ROM copied. Partially developed game software is important to retro game preservation, and I feel bad that I haven't done it already.
