Heatsink kit 1 for "breadbin" Commodore 64

Consists of:
  • 1 x 40 pin DIL heatsinks (for 6510 CPU)
  • 2 x 24 pin DIL heatsinks (for PLA and SID)
  • Tube of thermally conductive adhesive
  • A sachet of thermal grease to renew that used on VIC-II chip if desired.
  • Isopropyl alcohol wipes
  • Instructions
The chips that run the hottest in the C64 are the SID (6581), PLA
(906114-01 / 82S100 etc), CPU 6510 and VIC-II (6569) and these
are always the first to fail. Simply attaching heatsinks will help
dissipate the heat they generate and increase their lifespan.

The VIC-II Chip is usually already adequately heatsinked by the top
of the shielding box that surrounds it on the earlier breadbin C64s.
(A small sachet of thermal grease is included should you wish to
open the shield box and renew the thermal compound originally used.)

If you require an additional heatsink for the VIC-II chip of later versions
of the C64 board, please see C64 Heatsink Kit 2 in my other ebay items
