This auction is for a New Old Stock Gold Filled Necklace.

The Necklace is made of glossy 12k Gold Filled and is New Old Stock from a long ago closed jewelry store.  
   The Necklace is a slinky Snake Chain made by the Forstner Chain Company in the 1940s.  The Pictures show the best description but kindly forgive the reflections in the photos as the gold on this is highly reflective and the photos were taken outside.

This Necklace  is  from the 1940s!

A word about Gold Filled Antique and Vintage Jewelry...
    The Antique and Vintage Gold Filled pieces were made to look like the most expensive pieces of their time.
   Unlike the gold-plated and gold-dipped pieces of today which use a thin film of gold, the now Antique and Vintage pieces were Quality Jewelry available to those who could invest in nice jewelry.  The Gold Filled or Rolled Gold pieces were made by using high pressure heat to press sheets of Real Gold around a base metal, often Sterling Silver.
The result was thick enough that the lockets, bracelets, etc. could be hand engraved.
The durability is without question and imperfections are part of their storied charm.
