East Africa tribal art Kenya kamba beaded stool.

Elderly Kamba men (Kenya) sit on small stools with a circular concave seat decorated with beads and supported by four open feet. All made from a single piece of wood. This stool was probably brought back from Kenya by a colonial administrator in the 1960’s prior to independence.

Dimensions 31cms diameter x 31cms high
Weight: 2.2kg (large and heavy item to P+P)

Condition: One slight radial split to stool and a few beads missing in places from the pattern. Stool has a very small wobble on a totally flat surface (Could be trimmed) but fine on carpet. This is due to the shrinkage over time that caused the radial split. Great pattern and surprisingly comfortable to sit on in a slightly squat posture. Stool still strong and load bearing (I weigh 16 stone)
