Here for sale we have an extremely presentable and fully functional Premier set dating from the early to mid 1950s. All the drums have been fully refurbished, interiors and edges all checked, sanded and waxed. Re-wrapped in a tastefully aged White Pearl they are ready to go out of the box and will certainly make some retro minded (and probably bigbandist) drummer very happy. All drums are Pre International in size other than the 14x18 floor tom. As era specific as they come, the sizes are ...

22x14 bass drum. 3ply birch shell with solid beech rerings. 8 Art Deco lugs, 16 Ls and claws. Twin dampers front and back, disappearing cymbal post mount plus clamp on spurs. PI sized heads to both sides, Evans smooth white to batter and calf to reso, both in excellent shape with much life left. This drum has had some dowel plugs and ply fillets used in returning it to its original factory issue state. It had undergone a few "improvements" over the last 60something years, namely a late 60s dagger style tom mount, disappearing spurs and an extra cymbal mount. All interior plugging has been done to the highest standard, all sanded and waxed smooth to shell. The hoops have also been repainted and clear lacquered.

16x18 Floor tom. 3ply birch with solid beech rerings. 20 Art Deco lugs, slot headed tension bolts, cast beerbarrel hoops, single spot damper, correct second vent to rear wrap seam, sprung leg mounts with new feet to legs. Smooth white Everplay to reso and excellent calf to batter, much life left.

14x18 Floor tom. 3ply birch shell with solid beech rerings. 16 Art Deco lugs, slot headed tension bolts, cast beerbarrel hoops, single spot damper, correct second vent to wrap seam, sprung leg mounts with new feet to legs. Smooth white Everplay to reso and excellent calf to batter, much life left. A spectacularly rare Premier offering, this originally left the factory cradle mounted, now sadly lost. At some point it was fitted with badly positioned strip leg mounts, these were removed and the fixing holes dowel filled prior to refitting era appropriate sprung leg mounts.

12x8 ride tom. 3ply birch shell with solid beech rerings. 6 Art Deco lugs, slot headed tension rods, cast beerbarrel hoops, single spot damper, 3point spigot mount. Everplay to reso and excellent calf to batter, much life left. It had undergone the same dagger mount "improvement" as the bass, these holes have been dowel/ply filled. Originally this drum would have been mounted off the bass with a hoop mounted arm which I do not have. These parts surface for sale every so often on Ebay and should not be difficult to find should the new owner be seeking one.
