Vintage China 5" Brass Crash Cymbals Pair Percussion Rare

You are purchasing a used pair of Chinese 5" brass cymbals, made in the Fujian province of China and used to be popular by Taoist priests and Buddhist monks for its crystal clear tingling sound. Also used in Hokkien/Fujian Nanying music and lateron distributed with antique stuff from Macao to Malacca, Penang Island as well to Singapore. It is a rather rare percussion instrument which is hard to find today.

Many playing technics including jingling, tossing and throwing. Due to the rarity of such traditional cymbals many use or replace it with jin-too (or Beijing opera cymbals) instead. But definitively you would like to own such authentic pieces. Once you have listened to this sound, which you can hear still today in Penang and Singapore street Beijing operas as well traditional funeral ceremonies, you never will forget it, it stays in your ears.

How to operate: in the center of the cymbals is a hole to fix a ribbon or leather handle and each cymbal is hold in one hand and clapped together. By strength and rhythm during the perfomance attention of the observes can be increased, especially when it comes to emotionel scenes in order to attract visitor's attention and not falling asleep.
