What a fabulous piece this is, beautiful quality, in solid 18ct yellow gold.
The front is a Bulls-eye / banded agate at the front set with a gold and split pearl starburst.
Many of these “lockets” just have a glass frame set into the rear for the hair of a loved one – this one is a fully opening locket with a hair compartment on one side and a photo part on the other.
This is an excellent example of Victorian Jewellery that is completely wearable today. Superb quality and of heavy gauge gold it feels good in the hand.
