I am the first owner and have tried them on indoors on carpet only with clean socks. I did not even walk around the house in them, just in my closet. I applied the original RM suede protector as soon as I got them and they've always been stored in cloth shoe bags.

In terms of defects, these are not factory seconds. If you want to nitpick, there is a very small dark spot on the back heel of the right boot.  Because the boots are unworn, they still have the factory crease down the middle that will disappear once broken in.

The manufacturing date looks like it's 1/16.
