This is for an incomplete boxed cupping bleeding set. The mahogany box with its brass inlays, never-ingraved nameplate, reinforced corners, locking pieces and original hardware is in very good condition. The box is 10"L x 4.5"W x 3.25"H.  A small number "47" has been carved into the lid. The inside of the box with its partitioning for instruments and deep blue velvet lining is also in very good condition. The Tiemann label appears authentic but its asymmetrical position and its dating from 1833 - 1855 seems  incongruent to the contents.  The cynic in me thinks it may have been placed at a later date but I am not am expert. The case contains three cupping glasses of different sizes. The large cup is excellent, the bell shaped cup has had its brass fitting reinforced with hard red wax and the smallest cup has a circular crack by its fitting. There are four brass stopcocks having three different shapes. None of the parts appear marked by the maker. Regardless of the label, it is a beautiful box looking for its missing instruments; a scarificator, and a cupping pump. See images for condition. Questions are welcome.
