Sankaat is pleased to present for your consideration this very fine and rare Brass petal base taperstick made at the James Geddy Foundry in Colonial Williamsburg by master craftsman Sven Berg. Unlike the regular brass reproductions sold in the Craft House, this candleholder was made in the restored Geddy Foundry in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg and handcrafted entirely in the 18th century manner, including hand polishing, and finishing. Measuring 4.75 inches tall, this beautiful petal base candlestick is in excellent condition with no signs of damage or wear- being hand cast it has subtleties not seen in the more mass produced brass pieces. Fully marked with the Geddy Foundry mark (I.G.) for "James Geddy" (I being used in colonial times interchangeably with the letter J), "BERG" for Sven Berg the resident master craftsman, and "HANDWROUGHT" for being hand made. Perfect for the distinguished collector of quality American made artisan pieces or Williamsburg reproductions. Thank you very much for viewing this auction!
