George Cox for Local Research Seamer Shoes Sand Suede Creeper Rockabilly Punk
For Local Research's inaugural range we've worked with respected local shoemakers George Cox. George Cox are a fourth-generation owned family business who were thrust into the limelight with their Brothel Creeper silhouette, created in 1949. The style was first adopted by the Teddy Boys in the 1950's and was then given further exposure during the 1970's through the UK punk movement.
With this history in mind, Local Research have taken cues from George Cox's storied past and placed them alongside originative detailing and contemporary styling. The 'Seamer' boasts a hand-stitched vamp, leather collar and heel pull with embossed 'LR' branding. Finished in premium Sandstone suede with brass eyelets and lace hooks and all constructed on a traditional 1353 last.
The seamed Gibson shoe is sat atop a natural crepe wraparound creeper sole with a notched tan welt.
This first run also includes a special edition handmade wooden presentation box.
The George Cox for Local Research Seamer Shoe has been conceptualised, designed and manufactured in limited quantity entirely in Northamptonshire, the home of artisanal shoemakers.
Sizing:
Please be aware that the Seamer is made on a generous last which comes up at least a half size big. For the best fit we suggest sizing down a half size or full size if you have a slim foot.
