 This beautiful plant grows rapidly to become a shrublike bush four feet tall or more even in Northern gardens. The stems are a healthy medium green. In late Spring, this Imbricata blooms out in a vast display of brillant flowers. The soft satiny petals are delicate and saturated in a very deep vibrant Fushia Purple color. The blossoms are filled with contrasting bright Yellow stamen. The skeletal wood of this plant is used for making canes, picture frames, and other crafts and curios. Imbricata is a highly adaptable plant that can survive extreme heat, drought and freezing temperatures.
