LEGO Discovery sets contain detailed models of real spacecraft which let
you recreate famous space missions and experience the thrill of being
an astronaut. They were produced in partnership with NASA and depict
iconic spacecraft of the 20th Century.
Imagine, for instance,
taking part in the 2004 mission to study Martian rocks and soil in
search for clues to the history of water on Mars! LEGO Discovery offers
you lots of opportunities to explore the secrets of outer space and
create some of your own. Many questions still remain unanswered, but
you'll always find fun facts and adventure in LEGO Discovery - that is a
certainty.
Blast into outer space with LEGO. Be part of the
2003 Mars mission by building your very own Mars Exploration Rover. This
detailed replica is modeled after the "robot geologists" that is set to
explore the surface of the red planet.
You are bidding on a
collection of 2 mint Lego Discovery 2003 sculptures, both include
original instruction manual and original box:
*** Lego 7471 Mars Exploration Rover (870 pieces)
This
is highly collectible, could have been part of the Technic line up as
well. The construction is advanced, more difficult and the built model
is quite functional. It features knobs to open the sun panels and to
control the camera, antenna and digger. The steering is also real cool.
Used, but all parts are mint, one radar piece is substituted with modern
light grey - barely noticeable and some white parts had been darkened
with permanent marker, I've cleaned them as best as possible.
*** Lego 10029 Apollo Lunar Lander (453 pieces)
This
limited set was only available from shop at home. It is incredible
well-detailed and also appears the right scale for figures (sorry, missing original figures). The ascent stage is detachable from the descent. The
landing gear fold in neatly. It is complete with all parts and appears
like new, but missing stickers, both minifigures and the US flag. Includes a replacement astronaut (see pictures). The
box says: Discovery Kids.
This set will be shipped from Wellington, New Zealand.
