ANTIQUE EAPG GREENSBURG GLASS ELEPHANT HEAD CONDIMENT SHAKER CASTOR ~ HOLDER!

Fabulous estate collection Early American Pattern Glass Greensburg Glass Company elephant head condiment castor or shaker holder, circa 1891. No actual shakers or condiment holders come with this castor...the openings measure in at 1 & 5/8" wide. Metal handle and attachment under the base bottom show general patina throughout...nothing unexpected for its age. No chips or hairlines. Sometimes referred to as the Jumbo castor, and seen in an early ad as the Stanley Castor, it has been attributed to Greensburg Glass Company which operated in East Greensburg, PA from 1890 to 1892 when it reorganized and became Greensburg Glass Company Ltd. In 1899 it joined National Glass Co., and became Factory #8 aka Greensburg Glass Works. Eventually in 1900 the factory was sold to Standard Glass Co. The company short lifespan does make it's items somewhat hard to come by for collectors...and this Victorian era aesthetic pattern is equally, if not more difficult to find. Handle for the castor measures in at 9 & 1/4" tall overall. Ask questions if you have them...will be carefully packed and shipped promptly upon confirmation of your payment.

We prefer our clients to have Public, rather than Private, feedback.

Additional Packaging Requests: We have received a few requests to "double box" our items. While we take great care to pack our items normally, we do not generally double box. To do so adds to the weight and expense for shipping. Please be aware that if you make this request, you must do so prior to paying as your invoice must be adjusted to accommodate the additional shipping weight. Do not wait until paying to include a "note" with your payment, as we may then be unable to comply with your request.

Please noteWe care about your item! We pack carefully, as if it will be our own, taking great care using GREEN materials when possible. A modest handling fee ($.50 - $3.00) per item is occasionally included in the shipping costs quoted in the shipping calculator below. Please check it before bidding.
