ANTIQUE ANSONIA CLOCK CO. NEW YORK 8 DAY TIME & STRIKE "TORONTO" MANTEL CLOCK!

Nice estate collection clock from Ansonia Clock Company of New York time only mantel, parlor or shelf clock with an wonderful style and design and the model name of Toronto. Case is still quite good with very minor age wear. Glass dial cover or crystal is in fine condition...paper dial itself also, although we do have an age yellowing as you can see in our posted photos. Carries clear black numbers and what appear to be original hands...Ansonia logo appears below the hands arbor. Back side works cover door carries the original paper label. Label shows some expected age and usage loss here and there but is still readable. Inside we have a brass Ansonia signed 5 & 1/2 time and strike movement with a patent date of June 1882. After many years in storage with the estate holders collection, when wound the clock started right up and continued to run. Accuracy was not determined. The gong strike at the hour and half hour is in working order. As with all of our estate timepieces and clocks, a professional cleaning is highly recommend, with required adjustments after shipment to you, for proper working order and accuracy. Measures in at about 16" tall. Finial may or may not be original to the clock...we have seen some with similar small finials, and some with larger finials. It does feel solidly affixed in place and does not remove. Replacement key included. A nice, hard to find clock in this Ansonia pattern for your collection!
