Bombardier Dash 8-100 Series

During the 1970's there was a requirement in the airline industry to fulfil the need for a similar type transport (to the DHC-7), that would offer better economics and quicker speed. The Dash 8-100 first flew on 20 June 1983 and entered service with Canada's NorOntair on 19 December 1984, followed by the United States carrier, Piedmont (Henson).
