You are purchasing a set of plans and step by step instructional dvd on building your own lightweight (21 pound) kayak. It can be completed in a weekend of steady construction and will cost you approximately $100.00 to build. All the materials are readily available from local suppliers. (building supply stores and local marinas)  The main hull is constructed of high density extruded foam (commonly called blueboard).  No fiberglassing is involved in construction. The surface is comfortable, cushoned, and durable.

No special tools or skills are required (a simple sabre saw and hot glue gun are all the power tools needed.)

The video takes you through every step of the construction process and produces the kayak shown in the photo on this listing. (the kayak is 8 feet long, 28" wide and 8" through hull thickness)

I developed this kayak in order to have a set of kayaks my wife and I could use while pontooning throughout the Adirondacks. It had to be durable, light weight, and be able to be placed on the top of the fabric roof of our pontoon boat without hurting the fabric. In rough water you may take some water into the seat area but due to its foam construction, it will not lose bouyancy even if you take a wave over the side . A skirt may also be built up around the seat area.

The kayak has a surface that will not scratch or hurt anything it hits or scrapes across, great for kids to use. It can be placed alongside your mahogany Chris Craft, or placed on the deck of your cruiser without hurting its finish. It can be banged around, tossed, dropped, or thrown into the lake without hurting it or what it comes in contact with. Design is easily modified to suit your needs. Add rod holders, camera storage, dry storage, make an in hull storage compartment, limited only by your immagination. The pictured Kayak is 8" deep and was built for an individual that weighes over 200 pounds, the ones I built for my wife and I are only 6" thick and weigh under 20 pounds. To produce a lighter or modified version all you have to do is leave out the final two inch layer of foam or substitue a 1 inch layer of foam for the last layer during construction. Stability is actually increased by making the hull thinner for a small person as the stabilizers penetrate the water farther. You can place your feet on the deck or in the water, during warm weather my wife and I always drape our feet into the water, it also adds comfort and stability. The boat is extremely comfortable, we go out for hours. Light, quick, and manuverable, it is the sports car of kayaks . We have intentionally rolled out of the kayak and were able to reenter by pulling ourselves up the rear flat deck and reentering the seat.

Great to fish bass from, it will slip quietly and effortlesly into weedy areas giving the angler a stealthy low profile. For the bass angler that always wanted to slip into some unaccessable areas with that expensive bass boat just bring it with you with its small size and light weight you can place it right inside your ranger bass rig. Its cushoned surface will not mar your rig even at a bouncy 70 mph. Just bungi it in so it doesn't go airborne.

I attached a plywood mount on the stern deck of my kayak and mount a small electric trolling motor and 12 volt battery. Completely detachable it works great and the set up is shown in the video.

The design of the kayak makes it very easy to set up a detachable wheel and axel system that clips right on to the stabilizer fins. Makes it great to take into ponds fishing.
