Authentic 1977 Indonesia 100 Rupiah Banknote Uncirculated Mint Condition
"Javan Rhino Image"

Banknotes are more than just money.  A country's currency tells a story of the culture and history of a country.  In our current era of digital money actual printing of banknotes is becoming obsolete.  Increasingly rare banknotes not only provide collectible memories but also can be considered small investments.

The 1977 Indonesia 100 Rupiah banknote features a Javan Rhino in it's habitat on the front and back.  The Javan Rhinoceros is a critically endangered species and possibly the rarest (approx 40 living) large mammal on earth.  The only known population left lives in the Ujung Kulong National Park in Java Indonesia.  The one-horned Javan Rhino was once prevalent in South East Asia and China.  The population decline is attributed to loss of habitat during wars and the use of it's horn for Chinese Medicine.

The 1977 Indonesia 100 Rupiah was legal currency in Indonesia from 1977 till 1985.  It was replaced during a period of high inflation and currency reform in Indonesia. The 1977 Indonesia 100 Rupiah is a collectible memory of Indonesia and the critically endangered Javan Rhinoceros!
