This Hello Kitty serving plate is made of glass. The edges are scalloped or fluted. There are painted fish and flowers and the look is very festive. Perfect to serve cookies, mini muffins- whatever dessert or snack you want. I would avoid anything that needs cutting as you would cut into the painted design. I also would NOT put this in the dishwasher. Hand wash only. The diameter of the plate is approximately 11". The plate has obviously not been used but the box has gotten considerable shelf wear in storage so please know that even though I marked this as new, the box has "issues".
