The Silmarillion J.R.R. Tolkien 1st American Ed. 

This is edition contains the broken type found about 3/4 down on page 229.  This was subsequently fixed in further printings.

The dust jacket shows considerable wear from handling and shelving.  

The spine is strong and well bound.  Pages show yellowing from age, but NO tears, rips or dog ears.  

Map is attached in the back and is whole and intact.

The book cover is a deep green with gold gilt design on the front and lettering on the sides.

A very nice collectors piece.
