There is a rotary control that you can use to change the note being tuned.

There is also a control called "Vernier" that lets you change the tuning basis from 440 Hz to 442 Hz and so on .  The knob itself is very hard to turn, not sure if the inside of it is stripped.  But you can just take off the knob and turn the pot with pliers or a small money wrench.  Luckily, I never had to change the setting from 440 Hz, so it was rarely, if ever, an issue.
