Today (10/12/16) I am listing 5 nearly new kimono from my personal collection. Over the next week or so I will continue to list kimono and obi from my collection. They range from less formal to the most formal, of different ages, and of a variety of prices, depending on age, condition, and detail. Please see all five of today's kimono, and keep coming back to see the new ones I list.

This is a marvelous furisode (long-sleeved kimono) in near perfect condition. Furisode are traditionally worn by unmarried women at formal occasions, such as weddings. No obvious flaws or spots, and the lining is clean. It has a wonderful design of white cranes and red pine against a dramatic white and black asymmetrical background. Cranes and pine are popular motifs for special occasions, especially weddings, as symbols of longevity and endurance. Several of the cranes are outlined in couched gold thread (photo 8). This kimono would be perfect to wear, or as a wall hanging for Asian decor. It is made of silk. Please see all photos for details of the design.

Dimensions are: 61 inches long, 51 inches wide at the waist (it will be effectively less once the overlap is considered), and 48 inches from sleeve opening to sleeve opening.

Condition: near pristine, does not look like it has been worn. Age: recent, probably no more than 10 or 20 years old, maybe less. Heisei period.

Please see all my other listings, too: I have more kimono, and Japanese obi, Japanese and Chinese antiques and collectibles, and brand-new women's clothing, mostly plus sizes. I try to  list new items every week.
