How it works Perfect froth forms between 62°C and 68°C depending on the type of milk you are frothing. Our simple froth thermometer adheres to your frothing jug and changes colour progressively as the temperature of the milk rises allowing you to judge the temperature precisely every time. To make perfect froth for your perfect cappuccino Step 1: Put cold milk in the milk jug (the colder the better). Step 2: Froth the milk watching the froth thermometer carefully. The change in colour will tell you the temperature of the milk. Stop frothing when the temperature reaches about 65°C Step 3: Different milks froth at slightly different temperatures. Experiment with slight variations either side of 65°C to learn what temperature suits your favourite milk. Care of your froth thermometer Repeated soaking in hot water (such as in a dishwasher) or prolonged exposure to ultra-violet light (e.g. strong sunlight) will eventually affect the accuracy of your froth thermometer. Hand-washed and kept out of direct sunlight it will give you longer service. Step 1: Clean your milk frothing jug thoroughly and dry to remove any moisture, leaving a clean dry surface for the froth thermometer to adhere to. Step 2: Peel off the backing and apply the froth thermometer to the outside of the jug below the cold milk level as shown in the picture. Hint: There are two froth metres in each packet, so apply one strip to each side of your jug, so that you can use either hand and still see the temperature.
