I have for sale a stunning, vintage made but unused, Japanese traditional silk kimono obi bolt/fabric/cloth/textile.

This bolt was made in the famous NISHIJIN textile quarter of Kyoto, Japan.

The background is plain chestnut brown silk with a smooth slightly lustrous texture. The patterned areas have a cooler brown colour.

There are placement woven designs of jigami and streams in attractive colours.

The bold woven motifs are in green, gold and ivory. The gold used is genuine gold thread.

There are 2 main patterned sections, one is 30" long and the other is 12" long (very approximately).

On the reverse the patterned sections have a completely gold background and the remaining fabric is lustrous black.

You could use this side of the fabric if you prefer. See photos. The fabric is in very good unused condition.

Size: 13.8" 35cm wide x 193" 490cm long approximately. Weight 500 grams approximately.

This item could be used to make a variety of craft items, including wall hangings table runners, or cushion covers.

It could also quite possibly be used for clothing, maybe a waistcoat?
